Since 2001, The Fuquay-Varina Emergency Food Pantry has been leasing space in what is now over a 69-year-old building. While the space was adequate when serving 200 and up to 300 families per month, we have since outgrown it. We are currently serving 450 to 500 families per month, or roughly 1,700 individuals. We have been forced to store food in two warehouses and have now rented two pods for additional storage. We borrow space in refrigerators and freezers when local churches allow and often have to store frozen food temporarily in refrigerators. In summary, we have outgrown our building and need a new one with more space and adequate freezing and refrigerating capacity.
We have been able to acquire land on which to build our own Food Pantry but do not currently have the funds to build it. This is where we need your help.
